I can only sit here in California, in the iron grip of the undead hand of Jarvis, and gaze with envy.

Colorado had a study from the property tax commission https://leg.colorado.gov/sites/default/files/images/land_value_tax.pdf

That's right! Put together by our friends at Schalkenbach, now Progress and Poverty Institute. We are hoping to continue the movement in Colorado.

As a Michigan resident, I'm very excited about Duggan's run for governor. Do you have any recommendations for actions Michiganders can take to boost his candidacy?

You can: reach out to his campaign (they have a "Get Involved" section on the website), write a letter to the editor, post to local reddits and other groups, etc.

He has an uphill battle, but he certainly enjoys quite a bit of support in Michigan, so it's possible

Why is Mike Duggan running as an independant? Do the two parties not like him?

I'm a little bit mystified by it, but I suspect the reason is that he doesn't believe he has a good shot at the nomination of either party: the Democrats because they have a couple of likely contenders that he would be hard-pressed to defeat, and the Republicans because he's a longtime Democrat. I'm hopeful that he can do what he's promised to do: appeal to large swaths of voters in both parties and secure a win.
